PREGNANCY & BIRTH

Antenatal visits

Antenatal visits are used to follow your health and your baby’s progress, review test results, answer questions and plan for later pregnancy and birth. Pregnancy care is provided through Dr Tini’s practice in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

What visits are for

Visits may include blood pressure, growth assessment, review of symptoms, results and medication, and discussion of the next stage of pregnancy.

Visit schedule

The timing and frequency of appointments depend on gestation, your medical history, pregnancy risk and how pregnancy is progressing. Follow the schedule provided by the practice.

Bring your questions

Write down questions between visits. Topics may include symptoms, exercise, work, travel, medication, scans, birth preferences and feeding plans.

If something changes between visits

Do not wait for the next routine appointment if you develop concerning symptoms. Use the practice’s designated contact process or seek urgent care when appropriate.

When to seek urgent care

If you believe you have an emergency or develop severe/worsening symptoms, seek urgent medical care. Routine website messaging is not an emergency service.
